RIVIERA MAGAZINE DESIGN SERIES PRESENTS CASA SURF PROJECT IN COLLABORATION WITH QUIKSILVER AND ROXY

Tuesday, November 3rd, 2009

In August 2009 Quiksilver and Roxy teamed up with Riviera Magazine to take part in the Casa Surf Project. Casa Surf Project brings together Orange County’s local surf industry leaders and elite interior designers in an effort to raise money for local charities while also reinvigorating the aesthetic of the hotel by infusing local surf culture into the remodeling of the historic 38-room boutique hotel, La Casa Del Camino in Laguna Beach.

Quiksilver was challenged to create an environment that complimented each brand’s aesthetic while still staying true to the hotels heritage. Quiksilver room designer Angela O’Donnell chose to coincide with the Spanish theme of the hotel to create the Quiksilver Suite.  The objective was to maintain the authenticity of the space while creating a thoroughly modern and inviting environment. With its new provenza wooden floors and vintage wood ceilings the Quiksilver Suite was opened up to a grander scale. The Mountain and Wave logo, used as a branding centerpiece, is tacked into the leather headboard above each pillow. The regality of the room shines through with a portrait of a Spanish Conquistador holding surfboard ‘guns’ in place of traditional guns.

Each surf company chose a charity to benefit from their new room and for one year, two percent of the rack rates for each night the room is occupied will go to the designated nonprofits. Quiksilver’s room will be donating to The Quiksilver Foundation.

Please join us this week, Wednesday November 4th from 6-8pm to celebrating the launch of the new Quiksilver and Roxy rooms at the Casa Del Camino hotel in Laguna Beach. We look forward to seeing you there!
